How far must you travel to throw your name in the hat to be eligible for Quality Dealer of the Year? For one Colorado dealer the journey started in Massalubrense, Italy. Giuseppe (Peppe) DeMarco started his career in the auto industry as a salesman for the Patrick Group in Schaumburg, Illinois in 1979. He moved up the ranks and eventually managed several dealerships before moving his family west, in 1996 to Ft Collins, to open up Highline Motors.
 
After purchasing an undeveloped property, Peppe set up a modular office with future plans of erecting a permanent facility, which he did, four years to the day, of their Grand Opening on November 20, 1996. The 4400 square foot building housed a show room with offices and a five bay shop to better assist their customers after the purchase.
 
Highline Motors is truly a family run business, with Sherryl, Peppe’s wife and her father Don, helping out with the day to day duties. It actually goes further than that, because with their nine employees, and their approach with their customers it seems to be family oriented which might explain an 80% to 85% repeat and referral business.
 
There are always success stories in the auto industry and Peppe and Sherryl have graciously demonstrated that, but it’s their involvement that sets them aside from the others. In the show room there is a bulletin board that is literally filled with hundreds of Thank You Letters. Respite Care, MS Walk, Knights of Columbus, Youth Soccer and Colorado State Athletics, along with many others, have benefitted from the DeMarcos commitment to their community.
 
Peppe and Sherryl will be representing CIADA and Colorado at the National Independent Automobile Dealers convention June 12-16, 2007 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Opryland Hotel.
