George Konrad - Executive Director 1975-1991 Print this page
George spent his adult life in the automobile business. He started as an automotive parts salesman for NAPA after being in the service. This lead him to pursue a career in the automobile business from 1956-1975 in Commerce City. During his years as an automobile dealer he was active in the CIADA and during 1969-70 he held the position of President.

In 1975 George accepted the position of Executive Director of the CIADA. His experience in the automobile business was very helpful in developing the knowledge to do a solid job of running the association. George developed many programs that were beneficial to all of the members. He made a point of treating the members as one by being fair to all. The membership grew from 250 to 700 on his watch and represented dealers at the State Capitol and the Motor Vehicle Department

When asked, "Why Should I Belong to the Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association?," George replied, "First and foremost, it is to do collectively what no one can do alone, as well as being informed businessmen that are able to participate in the many benefits and activities of their association."

George has been a valuable resource since his retirement and continues to actively participate in CIADA Board Meetings.
